Zoetrope

This is my first attempt at using the shapes in diff gent sizes on the paper , placing in side the machine and seeing if it was effective or not.

2 wire Artists

Image
These two wire artists really inspired me with ideas on what I should create and wlorw with wire and how to fully use it in the right way. The way the two designs really deeply create detailed and refined pieces with wire is very ingesting as to wire is sometimes very hard and difficult to work with. For my wife work I created a late circle , I used wire sticks talked them round a pen to make a swirl I repeated that then sorting them around the circle . However they were 3D so to make them 2D I squashed all the swirls so they were flat, then I made various triangles out of the wire which I am going to place in the middle of the circle layered so it creates a bold and interesting effect.

Project proposal

Image
This is my project proposal, showing my understanding in the tasks I have been set to meet for the flight project , I explained how I’m going to do things and create things throughout the project , what materials and techniques I’m going to use and further develop. Also my opinion on overall courses and how I’ve been with time management. Showing my understanding and knowledge.

2D Initial drawings

Image
Firstly I created two design boards of various sketches of 2D patterns exploring and using g my inspired images as a starting point to get used to the quick process of designing more than one swishes and using every idea what comes to mind, secondly I then created 3 main initial sketches being more detailed and refined with my patterns and also I added water colour to add that extra detail and exporting different colour pallets. Lastly I drew one main final outcome design which was very detailed and monochromatic with the colour pallet I chose for it . however I tried to stuck to my theme of geometric shapes by using structured lines and tones throughout the background then layering triangled shapes over the top to create a contrast of colour also shape.

Silk printing

Image
I loved how easy and fun silk printing was to create. I first drew the outline of ten butterfly onto paper, next I used fine ink to draw over the outlines of the butterfly drawings so it would go through into the silk making the butterfly butterfly shape. I then added colour by bleeding the paint , I mixed it with purple and blue inside the butterfly and around the butterfly creating a detailed contrast between two colours.

lino printing

Image
Lino printing was very easy and quick to develop a detailed drawing into various layered patterns and colours. I used black and also red and blue to change it up instead of using black which worked out really well in my opinion. I carved out the shape of a pair of wings to start of with the lino printing, further developing that by getting a colour putting the paint at the bottom of the paint board using a paint roller to get the paint onto the roller. Rolling over the lino prong with the paint/ink then placing the link print on cartridge paper developing various pattterns or one single pattern with it.
